Recently, I have switched to tabbed for xterm. It’s yet another awesome suckless software. It’s basically a tab container for XEmbed enabled applications, e.g. xterm, which is what I use it with. To use it with xterm, I launch it like: tabbed xterm -into, and it launches xterm for each new tab, and passes it its window ID at command-line, and xterm then embeds itself into that tabbed window, courtesy: XEmbed. Following is how it looks in the ps:
